We hire interlocking cast iron test weights to clients across the UK for a wide range of proof load testing applications – from crane testing and UDL / Ground loading testing to offshore and marine applications and ballast applications.
We are not a general hire company that happens to have test weights on the fleet. Test weight hire is what we do, and the system we hire has been designed specifically for the job – not repurposed from something else.
Our background
The business was established with a straightforward goal – to provide a test weight hire service that addressed the health and safety problems that had long been accepted as normal in the industry. Anyone who has worked with traditional test weights knows the issues – weights that are difficult to handle, assemblies secured with cargo lashing straps, cradles with unknown histories, and documentation that leaves a lot to be desired.
We looked at those problems and designed a system to solve them. The result is our interlocking 5Te and 1Te cast iron weight system – a purpose-built, self-securing assembly with integral lift points, positive locking tabs and full inspection certification on every hire. We are based in Newcastle upon Tyne at Carville Works, Hadrian Road, NE28 6HF. With stockists in both England and Scotland, we can deliver proof load test weights to sites anywhere in the UK, typically within 48 hours of enquiry.

Safety is not a marketing message for us – it is the reason the business exists. Every aspect of our weight system has been designed with safety in mind, from the positive locking tabs that eliminate the need for lashing straps to the integral lift points rated to 30te. We believe that proof load testing should be carried out with equipment that is as well engineered as the equipment being tested.
